People travelled from Coonamble, Warren and Dubbo last Thursday for Our Community’s training in Nyngan with trainer Natalie Bramble.
Participants from the course learnt the best ways to write grants and promote their projects.
Facilitator Natalie Bramble enjoyed her time in Nyngan and found the participants to be very enthusiastic.
“I love regional Australia and working with close communities like Nyngan.
“These towns can benefit from grants and fundraising strategies to match the money the bigger companies are receiving in metropolitan areas. It is just knowledge.
“From writing winning grants and organising their long-term fundraising objectives, Nyngan will only grow stronger,” Natalie told the Nyngan Observer.
The morning session covered fundraising and the different options for funding community groups long-term.
Participants learnt about the benefits of partnerships, building a membership base and living gifts - all ways to bring in funds.
Coonamble Shire Council employee Amanda Glasson found the training to be very beneficial.
“It was a fantastic training program delivered by a knowledgeable informative presenter,” she said.
“It’s amazing how working with others in a group just expands your project and makes it more dynamic.”
Trish Wendland was attending the grant writing workshop for the second time. Having travelled to Dubbo for the grants workshop a few months ago, Trish was so motivated by the training she decided to attend again and learn even more.
“Today’s training will allow me to confidently apply for future grants. I really enjoyed the way the training was delivered, it was very relaxed, open conversations and plenty of laughs,” Trish from Yarrabin Outreach Inc said.
Our Community’s next regional workshops will be in Young and Orange, before the training will return to Sydney. For further details see www.ourcommunity.com.au
