Experience the evolution of three dancers - Australia’s Number 1 B-Boy Champion Lamaroc and Funkstylists Andre and Enigma.

Combining fresh elements of theatre, multimedia and dance the characters of Cypher Sapiens come to life spanning 30 years of Funk and Hip Hop, travelling on a musical journey back to the past and into the future.

The production offers 50 minutes of explosive, original performance, exposing audiences to different genres of dance such as Popping, Animation, Locking and B-Boying.

Lamaroc: “We are telling the world’s story and going all the way back to the moment of the ‘Big Bang’ with nothing but particles moving through space to the evolution of Homo Sapiens. We are travelling to the funk era and explaining the transformation into and meaning of Cypher Sapiens”.

Through the exploration of the history and culture of this contemporary movement, and the consequent dispelling of myths and stereotypes.

Audiences are given the opportunity to appreciate the Hip Hop genre as both a high energy dance genre and an effective theatrical medium.

B-Boy Lamaroc, regarded as Australia’s number 1 B-Boy, has been active in the Hip Hop scene for over ten years.

As a member of the Fresh Sox. crew (4 times OZ B-Boy champions), Lamaroc has performed and competed across Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore and the United States.

Lamaroc is one of the most active funk-style dancers in Australia, touring with the Cat Empire in 2003/4 and DJ Dexta and the Daily Shook Crew.

Cypher Sapiens will be in Nyngan on November 24 at Nyngan RSL, 7.30 pm.
