Get ready for a delectable, delightful and luxurious afternoon with food, wine and fashion aplenty at the Nyngan Showground for the 2009 “Country Energy” Nyngan Ag Expo!
David Butler of the ICPA said “we are really excited that Brigid McLaughlin will be bringing her 2009 summer fashions ‘The Darleeling Limited, an eclectic mix of oriental influences from the East’ to the Nyngan Ag Expo.
“Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the parade last year and many of our ladies cannot wait to see what she has in store for us this year!”
“Brigid was raised on the merino stud ‘Merryanbone North’ located between Nyngan and Warren.
“Brigid has always been inspired by a mix of new, old and unexpected textures.
“Her passion for natural products is reflected in her use of these types of fabrics and the exquisite prints are designed for and exclusive to her brand.
“These elements are just a part of Brigid’s philosophy to create unique, ageless, and artistic clothes to be lived in and loved by our ladies,” David said.
“Brigid has worked with many well known fashion labels including Charlie Brown and Lili and Issey Miyake. Her previous roles in the fashion industry include as head of design for David Lawrence and also for Lisa Ho.”
Kim Stokes, Ag Expo’s Food and Wine coordinator said “the Food and Wine Experience has a new sponsor thanks to local business, the Outback Motor Inn. Jamie and Lucy are very excited to be involved in this opportunity to present a selection of items from the range of delicious cuisine and wines on their menu.
“Red and white wines, and a port from Arrowfield Wines of the Hunter Valley will be showcased at our exhibit. Each wine is produced from the grapes grown on Arrowfield’s vines.
“Our cheese and biscuit platters will complement customers’ choice of wine, or if they would prefer, drinks from the full bar facility” said Lucy of the Outback Motor Inn.
“Jamie and I with our chef Franco are preparing the menu to include curries, kebabs, pita breads, tapenades, Mediterranean dishes, and soups served with warm, fresh bread rolls. Everything will be served from the main tent within the Food and Wine Experience.“We will also have available the Cannonbah Bridge and Rams Leap wines from our local district.’’
Visitors to the expo will also find scrumptious items available from Aussie Country Catering, Delectables Coffee, Dutch Poffertjes, Ice Cream, Macquarie Grove Estate Wines, Outback Country Crafts, Red Earth Estate, Ploughman Hill Olives, Trisha’s Linen and Lace and the Woodfired Pizza Guy.
