Calling all Bogans - stand up and be proud. Saturday October 31 is your day to shine at the inaugural ‘Bogan Day Out’ at the Nyngan Riverside Caravan Park.
Contrary to negative press, being a Bogan is not a bad thing - it’s a great thing - and for all of us who reside in the illustrious Bogan Shire, well, we are ‘Bogans’ and a small but dedicated group of Bogans have got together to realise our dream - ‘A Day to Celebrate Boganness’.
So on the morning of Saturday October 31 a market has been organised to take place in the main street and the park in the main street.
If you wish to display or have a stall call Wendy Clissold 6832 1699.
The festivities will continue from noon until late Saturday night on the banks of the Bogan.
There will be clowns, face painting, balloons, reptiles, whipcracking, animal nursery, fishing competition, tug-of-war, jumping castle, merry-go-round and golf buggy challenge just to name a few, and while these activities are taking place there will be fantastic musicians playing for the crowd.
These will include Crossing Genres (a three- piece band), Final Notice (a five-piece band from Dubbo), Tony Hunt (Dubbo), The Gap (duo Anthony Gemmell), Legless Pedestrians (a four-piece band) and Kristy Schnider. All these fantastic artists will entertain you for hours and there will be food stalls and a full bar to keep your appetite in check.
There will be an array of ‘Proud to be a Bogan’ merchandise for sale and a ‘Best Bogan’ competition will be held. A courtesy bus will be running back and forth to town to pick up and drop off, so come along, bring your family and support this great event.
With your support this event may become a fixed date on the Nyngan calendar and rival ‘Day on the Green’ as a boost for our local area.
A lot of work has gone into this event and we look forward to having a fantastic day out come Saturday October 31.
