Rally supports property rights

10 Feb, 2010 01:25 PM
More than 3000 concerned landholders converged on Canberra on Tuesday February 2 to participate in the Tower of Hope Rally in support of the issues Peter Spencer has raised concerning lost property rights.

The organisation of the event and the provision of transport by the NSW Farmers’ Association was fantastic.

The districts of Nyngan, Tottenham and surrounds were very well represented with more than 150 people attending.

As a result of the rally the Senate Finance and Public Administration Committee is holding an Inquiry into the Native Vegetation Laws, Greenhouse Gas Abatement and Climate Change Measures. Details of this inquiry can be found at the committee’s website http://www.aph.gov.au/senate/comm ittee/fapa_ctte/climate_change/in fo.htm or by phoning 02 6277 3530.

It is vitally important that anyone affected by the native vegetation laws lodge a submission to this inquiry.

Submissions are due by March 5 2010.
