The 2009/10 season promises to be a cracker jack affair with five teams vying for the coveted Jack Vanges Shield.

Three rounds of 40-over cricket commences on Saturday October 10.

This season also sees the introduction of the Overlander 20/20 Big Bash to be played over two weekends in a round robin format with plenty of prizes on offer.

Rumours around the traps have it that there have been a few off-season player transfers with teams looking for that special X factor to knock Bowling Club Colts off the number one spot.

And with the likes of young guns Bourke, Healy, Hoare(s), Franklin and Co vying for representative honours, there is sure to be plenty of high-class cricket for players and spectators alike.

So dust off the whites and oil up the willow for what promises to be a truly exciting season.
