Saturday saw two great games of cricket played with Dalkeith and Tottenham coming out winners.
In the first game Dalkeith took on premiers Colts. Dalkeith batted first with Brad McDougall, Rob Gudgeon and Brett McDougall all batting well.
Towards the end of their innings big-hitting Jacob Neill got a very quick 24 to take the total to 170. Colts came in to bat but other than Damo Smith and Richie Deebank no one else bothered to score and Colts were all out for 107.
In the second game RSL Old Boys travelled to Tottenham. RSL were without one of their form players in Stent Berwick and it showed in their middle order with slim Jim Moritz the only batsman to really bother the scorers. Tottenham batted first and again Greg Radford caused RSL trouble with 60 well-deserved runs supported by Damien Fairly with 33 not out and Dave Greg with 43. Tottenham ended up with 183. RSL in reply could only manage 137.
On Sunday Nyngan took on Gil in Country Plate cricket. I don’t have the scores of the game but Nyngan went down in a very close game. Nyngan fielded a lot of young players with them all going well which is great for Nyngan cricket.
Don’t forget the Overlander Big Bash starting in a couple of weeks, with lots of great prizes.
Please contact Peter Rees or Glen Berwick if you want a game.
