Great spirit at junior cricket

JUNIOR CRICKET: Saturday November 14 junior cricket saw PJ Barton’s team come up against Caleb Dutschke’s team for a game played in good spirit.

Notable figures for the day were PJ Barton made 16 runs, Dane Casey 19 and Mitchell Williams-Hedges with 12 runs.

Bowling figures were Matty McDougall took two wickets for 11, Isaac Dutschke took 1 for 12, Ryan Beetson took 2 for 13 and Jak Sinclair took 1 for 16.

Caleb’s team went in to bat with Ryan Beetson with 4 runs, Jak Sinclair with 6 runs, Brett Howard with 16 runs and Caleb with 4 not out. PJ Barton and Mitchell Williams-Hedges took wickets. A victory to PJ’s team 82 runs to 39.

The other game played at no 2 oval saw Jackson Williams-Hedge’s team face off against Josh Nolan’s team.

Jackson made a very impressive 37 runs not out, Ned Dawson was LBW for 9 runs. Bowling figures for the innings saw John Menzies 2 for 6, Josh Kirkpatrick 1 for 3, Bailey Smith 1 for 11 and Cooper Barrow 1 for 4. Josh’s team went in to bat, Josh made 17 not out, Jack Healey 8 and Josh Kirkpatrick 31 not out.

Bowling for that innings Ned Dawson 2 for 11, Jake Waterhouse 2 for 12, resulting in Josh Nolan’s first victory 75 runs to 69.

Sunday saw the under 14s travel to Dubbo but unfortunately they were well beaten.

Notable performances by Nyngan were Jackson Williams-Hedges 44 runs, Ryan Beetson 26 runs, PJ Barton 10 runs, Ethan McKellar and Dane Casey both 7 runs, Josh Kirkpatrick with 8 runs.

Jake Waterhouse bowled a brilliant 3 for 8, Jackson took 3 for 20, Josh Kirkpatrick took 2 for 36 and Brett Howard 1 for 45.

The final result was 219 to 134 under very hot conditions.

A special thanks must go to Mark Barton for taking a car load of cricketers to the game and taking care of his charges at the game.
