Nyngan Pony Club held their registration day and annual general meeting on Thursday February 11 and a good attendance resulted with members showing enthusiasm for the pony club year to begin.
The 2009 office bearers were returned to office, i.e. president Dave Motley, vice-presidents John Hoy and Shane Stephens, secretary Melissa Salter and treasurer Kim Stokes.
We thank them for their great work in 2009 and assure them that all members will be supporting them in 2010.
Our 2010 calendar is already very full with events, between pony club and our other horse organizations, the Mid-West Equestrian Club, and also the Nyngan Show, which is always the best show on the autumn run.
Zone 4 President, Shane Stephens and Mary and Nonie Dutton represented Nyngan Pony Club at the Zone 4 Annual General Council meeting on Saturday February 13.
Much business was discussed on this day and we congratulate Shane on being elected president of Zone 4 for his 3rd year.
The Zone 4 Jamboree will be at Walgett this year, so we have an advantage over the closer in clubs.
Congratulations must again be given to our two champions, Lizzie Hoy for her success in eventing and Nelson Salter for his running. They are two great athletes.
Mid-West Equestrian news is that our Big Horse Trials ODE will be held at Nyngan showground on Saturday/Sunday April 17 and 18, 2010.
Much work will be done on our cross-country course, with new jumps and an enlargement of the water jump.
Next Sunday February 21 will be the annual general meeting for the Mid-West. The meeting will be at 3pm. Light refreshments and tea to conclude the evening will follow this.
Please all come along.
This club will also be holding some hunt days, and a show jumping comp day during the year. Just in case you have nothing to do!
See you all there.
