McDougall and Woods win event

07 Oct, 2009 02:22 PM
Sunday’s 4B aggregate was sponsored by Reg, Brendan, Chook, Pat and Tex. There was a solid turnout of 28 players for the event and more than half the field came away as winners of a meat tray or trays.

The best of the day with 82 points was Brad McDougall and Dean Woods. Brad had 49 points by himself after an ordinary 23 points on the front nine. He was par figures for the back nine which was worth 26 points to him. He also lost three shots off his handicap and is now down to 14.

Dean didn’t have to do any better than his 33 points to secure the win.

A fair way back with 78 points was Peter Murphy and Josh Loxsley they had 39 points each. Chook and Lewie were third on the day with 76 points, Lewie having 43 of them plus a new handicap. Guy Monaghan and Craig McGree had 75 points, Craig was the standout with 42 also a new handicap of 23. Colin McCarthy and Pat Walsh had 73 the same as Ron Monaghan and Barry Howell and bringing up the rear was Don Lister and Jodi Douglas. The pin winners also took home a meat tray and they were Mim Pateman, Don Lister, Jodi Douglas, Guy Monaghan, Brad McDougall and Tony Lewis. Our thanks again to the sponsors and our usual barbecue cooks who are now having a well earned rest in Fiji. Also thanks to Luan for the side dishes.

Saturday’s stableford field was small but very competitive, the winner was Alan Holmes with 40 points, the runner-up was Barry Howell with 38 points in a three-way countback. The pins went to Steve Eckart and by public demand Jack Lupton by a minute margin over Barry.

Ladies mid-week winner was Betty Munro 66 net, Margie Dunn was runner up with 67 nett, nearest the pin was won by Dolly Ryan. An omission from Sunday was the individual section won by Brad McDougall and Rhonda Holmes.

Next Sunday we have the annual Beaurepairs day sponsored by Steve and Merrill Peterson, the event is an Irish 2-ball medley select. On Saturday it’s the last of this years monthly medals, the last of the electic comp and the last chance to qualify for the medal play-off on the 24th.

The badge draw and meat raffles are back to Thursday nights and $875 is there to be won, drawn around 7.30pm.

We have a new President in Adrian Hawley who succeeds Steve Peterson and Tim Tulenew is the club Captain replacing Graham Tomek, the members will back both to the hilt I’m sure.
