Twilight Opening Day attracts 40 golfers to course

05 Nov, 2009 10:17 AM
There were 40 players for this year’s Twilight Opening Day. The course has greened up a lot since last week’s rain. The day’s winners with a score of 47 points was ‘Me and Them’, a combo of odd bods lead by Anthony Ah-See. His other players were Josh Loxsley, Marty Carthew and Pat Walsh. Anthony was the stand-out man scoring on eight of the nine holes. In second place were the ‘Drought Breakers’ comprising Don and Lesley Lister, Nicole Chambers and Jodi Stewart. They had 45 points. The ‘Butcher Boys’ with 43 points were the final ball winners. Their team has the Whaley boys, Rod Blackall and James Neyland. They could be the surprise packet over the coming months. The pin winners were Audrey Nipperess and a very close one to Tony Elias over the cowal. Any teams that have not nominated yet please get them in ASAP, next Sunday would be ideal.

The ladies missed out on a game on Wednesday due to a wet track and Saturday’s golf had insufficient numbers for a competition to be held.

Next Saturday it’s a stableford game and on Sunday it’s the annual Christmas Scrambrose. Teams of three with normally a shotgun start.

The badge draw this Thursday night is an unheard of $975 plus the usual meat trays. Things get underway at about 7.30pm.
