Commencing in 1992 with four exhibitors it has seen a growth over those 21 years with more than 200 exhibitors committed to this year’s expo. This event has experienced a continual demand for expansion of sites and will expand sites again this year to accommodate new and old exhibitor enquiries.
2013 chairperson Rob Avard said “the committee is delighted to welcome AGL Energy as the naming rights sponsor for this year’’.
“Sponsor support is invaluable to the Nyngan Ag Expo,” Mr Avard said.
“It plays a vital role in ensuring the longevity and overall success of this event. We as a committee subscribe to a set of standards that are focused on informing, educating and promoting business in the rural sector.”
The Nyngan Ag Expo is very proud to offer our sponsors; AGL Energy, Central West Catchment Management Authority, Aussie Country Catering, Parisi Motorcycles, Bogan Shire Council, ZEE Tags, Coggan Wool, Elders, Telstra, Chesterfields Aust, Landmark, Weston Fencing, Radio 2WEB, Robert Handsaker Ford, Carter, Lindsay & Weber, Martel Accounting, The Land, Prime Television and Western Magazine a wide range of benefits for their support.
This year will see the continuation of the NSW Equestrian (Western Division) holding a two-day State competition in the main arena.
“This event will attract the August show run competitors and we are hopeful of attracting both professional and amateur participants from within NSW and we are also endeavouring to encourage our local children to compete more in this type of event,” said Penny Hoy, organiser of the event.
While big machinery, sheep and cattle displays are a vital part of what brings the farming community to the Nyngan Ag Expo, smaller equipment and lifestyle products and services have an equally important part to play in Australian rural and agricultural life.
This year we have introduced a “community area” said Mr Avard.
“We are offering sites ‘free of charge’ to community groups who have vital information and a need to promote their organisation to the people of the district, this area will also include children’s entertainment, an Antique engine display and a car ‘Show and Shine’.
“On Saturday 13th July we will be holding a dinner at the Outback Motel to formally honour Mr Max Tremain as the inaugural patron of the Nyngan Ag Expo and to celebrate 21 years of the expo, which would not exist without the commitment of its volunteer committee” reported Mr Avard, “we are inviting past members of the committee who have all been an integral part of the development of the Expo over the past 21 years, to contact us with their stories or photographs and to get in touch with Robyn Harris if they would like to attend, Max has been a stalwart and formable character of expo since the very beginning.”
The committee in 2013 will also further develop the “Max Tremain Education Scholarship” and has committed to support the local branch of Can Assist in its fundraising endeavours. To date the Nyngan Ag Expo committee has contributed over $35,000 back into the community of Nyngan.
