The August monthly medal attracted a solid field of 14 players all hopeful of getting into next month’s medal play-off.
The day’s best was Anthony Ah-See with a nett 65. He was only two over for the day, dropping those on the 14th and 15th. he now gets a chance in the play-off.
Beaten on a countback was Warren Murray. A couple of cruel holes for him on the back nine taking a seven on the 10th and another on the 15th.
Barry Howell who was close with his 66 nett was another player who fell by the wayside particularly over the last three holes.
Pin winners were Marty Woods (Parkes), Warren Murray and Chook Hawley.
Sunday’s ambrose winners were John Wynne and Tex Tomek with 59.5 nett for their round. They were five better than par.
Marty Woods and Rhonda Holmes were even par and had 62 nett. Then came the pin winners Jeff Leek and Barry Howell with 62.5 nett.
The ladies had a good roll-up for their mid-week stableford.
Dolly Ryan put a gap in the field with her 40 points. A was very steady all the way round. Rhonda Holmes had 38 points with a washout on the first hole.
Nicole Chambers had an encouraging 36 points after a long lay-off. The ladies’ championships have been put on the back burner for a few weeks.

Next Saturday we have a par event, Sunday is a stableford plus the NSW Veterans Mixed fourball championship at Trangie.
