This event is a highlight on the central western New South Wales calendar for both the farming industry and the community at large.
We recognise that the agricultural industry is a changing and challenging environment.
To stay abreast of these changes the “AGL Nyngan Ag Expo 2014” has a commitment to act in a manner that delivers a modern and efficient event that will initiate a transfer of knowledge and products from innovative, relevant and committed exhibitors to primary producers.
This year’s Expo will provide opportunities for new and established businesses from a diverse range of industries to promote their products and services to people within agricultural, business, government and various public arenas.
As a non-profit organisation, the committee strives to provide visitors with a field day experience second to none and this can only be done with the involvement of exhibitors.
It will provide a platform and the venue for businesses to reach existing and new patrons regardless of who their product is targeted specifically to - agricultural, retail, business, hobby, family, house and home, gift or any other type of audience.
The committee has been working tirelessly to build on established topics for the event including conservation farming, livestock, and fashion, art and lifestyle demonstrations as during this difficult and challenging time across the agricultural sector the focus remains to ‘Inform, Educate and Promote’.
Car enthusiasts will gather again at the 2014 AGL Nyngan Ag Expo for the Expo’s second “Show ‘n’ Shine”.
Local Nyngan identity, Henry Parry will have on display his HB Holden which last year won all four medals (three Gold and one Silver) in the “Street Elite” section of the Motorex Car show held in Sydney. Henry’s car has been on display throughout Australia at prestigious car shows.
“People with a passion for motor vehicles, both old and new have the opportunity to show off their pride and joy to the general public attending the Expo,” Show ‘n’ Shine co-ordinator Michelle Rowley said.
“Some of the vehicles already committed to attend have had some serious time and money spent on them and this year there will be no exception with vehicles from Dubbo, Cobar and Trangie attending,” she added.
This is an ideal opportunity for ‘people with passion’ to shine up the vehicles and show them at their very best, and have the added opportunity of winning exciting prizes for the many categories. One prize will be a “people’s choice” encouraging the public to vote for the vehicle they feel is the best of the show.
“Show and shine” events, have had a growth spurt in recent years with dedicated enthusiasts. It allows them to show and speak to others on the restoration and maintenance of their cars, bikes and even an old army tank was displayed over on the coast” Ms Rowley said.
This year Can Assist Nyngan will hold a fashion parade in the racecourse bar. Fashions from Ewe Two and a number of exhibitors, wine and nibbles will be a part of this year’s fundraiser for this proactive group of dedicated volunteers
Local identity Garry Steele will again have a large display of his personal collection of antiques.
“Garry’s experience trading and valuing antiquities spans some 25 years and the Expo is fortunate and thrilled to have someone with such experience involved in the valuing of everyone’s favourite collectable or family antique,” Ag Expo Antiques and Collectables co-ordinator Jenny Deacon said.
“We are grateful for the ongoing support of our sponsors, AGL Energy, Gold Sponsor - Aussie Country Catering, Silver sponsors Elders, Red River Stockyards, Nyngan Toyota, Coggan Wool, Bogan Shire Council, 2WEB, LOCAL Land Services, The Land and Bronze sponsors, Carter Lindsay and Weber, Western Magazine, Weston Fence, Landmark, Robert Handsaker Ford, M and C Parisi and appreciative of the many volunteers who assist on the day.
