The Nyngan Under 18s, which have been showing a great deal of promise, began on the backfoot with only 13 players travelling to Forbes to face the U18 competition leaders.
Forbes skipped out to a 12-nil lead after as many minutes and it looked like it was going to be a long day for Nyngan.
After the initial scoring spree by Forbes, Nyngan began to control the ball for different periods of time and were unlucky not to score on several occasions.
The score was 18-nil at the half-time break only through good defence from the likes of Adam Stanford, Mitch Hedges and Dean Jeffery.
Nyngan worked hard throughout the second half to improve aspects of their game and only ended up with 12 players through injury for the last quarter of the game.
The final score ended 30-0 but the Nyngan U18s who played produced a whole-hearted effort against a form Forbes side that had 21 players.
Nyngan’s downward spiral continued over in Forbes on Sunday going down to a committed Magpies side who had nothing to play for except pride.
Nyngan still continued to hand over possession far too easily and, for one reason or another, failed to get repeat sets to mount any pressure.
It’s time for the players to respond with some hard work and commitment for each other if they want to make an impact come semi-finals time.
Luke Matheson, Jacob Neill and Ryan Rogers played well in patches, however, it was not enough to get the Tigers home - going down 30 points to 24.
Reserve grade had a big win over Forbes with the final score Nyngan 44, Forbes 8.
Nyngan this weekend will be at home to the Cobar Roosters, so get along and cheer the Tigers home.
