If too much of the wrong thing ends up in your recycle bin it may not get recycled.
Did you know that when your recycling is collected it goes to Gilgandra Waste Facility where it is sorted and baled ready for delivery to a reprocessing plant, so that it can be made into something new?
Recycling is great for the environment because a lot less energy, water and raw materials are used than when products are manufactured from scratch.
Congratulations to the three lucky winners of our recycling competition who have won gift vouchers to spend at Khan’s Supa IGA.
1st prize of $120 went to Nerida Wright
2nd prize of $80 went to Kay Taylor
3rd prize of $50 went to Sue Moon
The 10 items that could be recycled were: glass bottles, cardboard, paper, aluminium cans, steel (tin) cans, glass jars, rigid plastic containers, milk/juice cartons, magazines and empty aerosol cans.
