Western NSW Medicare Local (WML) will be delivering two free education session on diabetes to the Nyngan community on Wednesday August 27.

Lesley Wilcox, WML Diabetes Educator, will be presenting on Driving and Diabetes, and answering any questions on diabetes in general.
“These information sessions are open to everyone in the community and we encourage anyone who is diabetic to come along and get their questions answered,” says Lesley.
Renaye Gadsby, WML dietitian, will also be presenting on the day about healthy eating for diabetics.
The diabetes education sessions will be held on Wednesday August 27 at the Nyngan RSL & Civic Club.
The first session will be held from 3pm until 4pm. The next session goes from 6.30pm until 8pm.
The sessions are free and tea/coffee and healthy snacks will be provided.
Bryan Hoolahan, WML Director of Clinical Services, says this service will tackle one of our region’s most important health issues.
“This WML service has and will continue to greatly benefit the community. We will continue to work and partner with the Western Local Health District to address health issues that concern our region,” he said.

Lesley visits Nyngan once a month and works from the Community Health Clinic at the Nyngan Hospital.
Appointments can be made through the reception at the hospital.
Lesley delivers individual education sessions for people with diabetes and aims to commence group education sessions in conjunction with other health providers in the future.
