What is MADD night I hear you ask?
MADD Night allows each individual student to articulate themselves in a creative and imaginative capacity with professionalism and passion.
MADD stands for Music, Art, Dance and Drama. It is a concert run by students and teachers to showcase Nyngan High School’s amazing creative and performing arts talent.
Not only is MADD night for students but it is also a wonderful opportunity for parents, teachers and members of the community to come along to enjoy what Nyngan High School has to offer in the form of the creative and performing arts.
The night is built around a large concert with music, dance and drama performances and an exhibition of art work which has been created by Nyngan High School students. Year 12 music students will perform their Higher School Certificate (HSC) pieces in preparation for their HSC performance exam.
The night will provide Emily Bandi, Chloe Dunn, Nelson Salter and Sophie White with the valuable opportunity to hone their musical skills in front of an audience before performing before the HSC examiners.
Whilst the HSC dancers Emma Beetson and Ebony Blake have already performed their dances for examiners,
like music, the audience will be able to experience the high calibre of performers at our school and witness their dedication represented through their individual performances.
Audiences will be delighted and entertained by the comedic drama presented by Stage 5 drama performances; ‘The Orange Bogan Commodore’ is a hilarious piece which explores history of a motor vehicle and its owners.
The over-the-top melodramatic performance of ‘The Cell Phone Rings for Thee’ is a comment about society’s insatiable and, at times, dangerous obsession with mobile phones, resulting in dire and unfortunate consequences.
Stage 4 drama will be performing a ‘cup song’ and an unusual interpretation of synchronised swimming which will delight the audience and their imagination through its creative execution. Nyngan Public
School will be showcasing its students’ talent with their performance of YMCA. St. Joseph’s School has been working hard to present a clever item written by Year 4 titled, ‘The Twins Tall Tale’.
The item is the result of Year 4s hard work during a dramatic storytelling unit and is an endearing performance which is bound to delight the audience with its descriptive images and unpredictable ending.
Students have been working hard and have devoted a lot of time to prepare and deliver outstanding performances.
The community is invited to join Nyngan High School for an evening of outstanding exhibition of talent.
Tickets can be bought at Nyngan High School front office for $10 an adult or $25 a family. The audience will be grouped in tables of six, so grab a few friends together and come along and join in the fun.
