BOWLS
The semi-final of the Bogan Classic Pairs on Monday morning saw Adam Lee and Rex Vane defeat Richard Latta and Rex Skewthorpe and Craig Rodis and Stephen Harding defeat Andrew Reynolds and Alby Homer.
Congratulations to the winners of the Bogan Classic Pairs Craig Rodis and Stephen Harding (Brewarrina) who defeated Adam Lee and Rex Vane in a great final.
Craig and Stephen, after being down by many shots early in the game, gradually managed to claw their way back and take out the prize.
The section winners were Alby and Maree Gibbs. The round winners were Barry Beetson and Jim Finn, Phillip Gibson and Ron Sullivan, Wayne Arandale and Kevin Reynolds and Daniel Holt and Pat Wynne.
President’s consolation winners on Monday morning saw Les and Marie Bexon take out the first prize money with Pat Wynne and Daniel Holt in second place.
Several members travelled to Cobar over the weekend to compete in the Cobar Triples.
Tom Howard, Petar McKechnie and Kevin Miles managed to make it to the semi-finals before being beaten.
Championship rounds:
Handicap singles round Jenny Parry defeated Tamika Rose in what was a great duel between the two girls. Handicap pairs round Lyn Hawley and Doreen Read defeated Teressa Rose and Tamika Ryan in what turned out to be a great challenge between them.
Golden Oldies: Winners Nicholas Gibbs and Frank Walsh.
Wednesday bowls: Winners Alison Hampstead and Mary Arandale.
Sunday bowls: Winners Steven Read and Paul Walsh.
Badge draw tonight Wednesday October 15 and also on Sunday October 19 between 2pm and 3pm. The draw is for $100.
Robb’s Butchery draws are also on Wednesday nights. Sunday lunchtime draws for IGA vouchers.
Please note: Change of date for twilight bowls. Will now commence on Wednesday night October 22. Teams of three and costs $120 per team.
A sheet is on the board for nominations. This is a great chance to get some friends together and have an enjoyable time at bowls.
On Wednesday October 15 Dapto bowlers will be visiting Nyngan Bowling Club and will have a game with bowlers in the Wednesday afternoon competition.
A separate sheet is on the board for this event so come along and have a game with the visitors and make them welcome.
Saturday October 18 is the ladies’ West Bogan Shield competition and should be a good day of bowls with eight teams competing from other towns along with our local ladies.
The draw and starting times are on the board along with conditions of play.
