The Splashers’ first swim of the season last Sunday at the “Splashatorium” was surprisingly well attended. The water wasn’t as icy as predicted.
Welcome to new Splashette, Roz “Frogman” Miller, who was well prepared for the conditions with wet suit, mask and deep sea diving gear.
Results were as follows:
30 Metres Final
1st Penny Bomber Hoy
2nd Roz Frogman Miller
3rd Dick Wireless Whiteford
50 Metres Final
1st Nigel Swivelneck Tyack
2nd Penny Bomber Hoy
3rd Doug Zorba Smith
Brace Relay
1st Nigel Swivelneck Tyack and Penny Bomber Hoy (.06 of a second outside their nominated time).
2nd Heath Drovers Pup Smith and Roz Frogman Miller (.63 out)
3rd Bec Wazza Fletcher and Liam Lamb Chop Fletcher (3.02 out)
There was a bit of “fowl” play which saw Swivelneck and Bomber very nearly relegated to second place. Contact president Rollin Ron Lovett for precise details of mix-up.
100 Metres
1st Heath Drovers Pup Smith (.19 out)
2nd Penny Bomber Hoy
3rd Greg Sneakin Deacon
Our mate Col Eldridge performed time-keeping duties only and said he will be in his speedos next week.
Al Trap Cameron was noticeable in his absence, apparently relaxing at home watching the Bathurst car races.
Trap’s first love, Mouse Hodge, swam admirably but could not snare a cockerel while Vicky Nemo Cleaver found the water too fast on the day, breaking her times regularly.
The Flying Finn Family were not sighted, not even at the RSL Club.
The Cluderays are on holidays.
Nyngan club will be holding the Western District Championships in February, 2015.
Please note there will be a Western Districts Committee meeting at the RSL Club this Sunday at 1.30pm.
New members are always welcome. We meet at the pool at 9am every Sunday followed by the famous Splashers’ breakfast at the RSL Club.
Penny Bomber’s Hoy’s Chickpea Salad was a healthy hit at the breakfast last Sunday.
