More than 70 people attended the evening which included guest speakers John Harper from the Mate Helping Mate Road tour, Dr John Burke Warren, Leon Smith, Mental Health Worker for the Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD) and David Honeysett Drug and Alcohol Health Education Dubbo speaking on Neami National Services in Dubbo.
John Harper gave a very enlightening presentation on how stress and anxiety can get out of control.
He used simple analogies to illustrate how common and normal it is to suffer from these issues but showed how easy and important it is to get help before it leads to depression.
The crowd enjoyed his laid-back manner and his ability
to relate to everyday life situations.
The Nyngan Health Service is very grateful to Dr John Burke for volunteering to come to Nyngan and make a presentation for the evening.
Dr Burke gave a very informative address on two of the biggest health problems facing society, obesity and diabetes.
The statistics given were frightening and it showed we can all make simple changes to improve our quality of life and prevent illnesses.
The message was to get up and get active.
Leon Smith informed the crowd on the services available in our area and how to access these services.
Leon has been servicing our area for many years and has extensive experience in helping clients work through issues they are facing.
David Honeysett represented Neami National from Dubbo. Neami National is an Optimal Health Program helping you improve your health and wellbeing in a holistic way.

The hospital auxiliary very capably catered for the evening providing a relaxing barbecue which allowed plenty of opportunities to mingle.
