There was movement on the pool deck
For the word had passed around
That Curly Col and Chicken Queen
Had landed back in town.
And had rejoined the Splashers’ swimming crew
They were worth a chicken or two,
And all the cracks had gathered to the fray…
All the tried and noted swimmers from the houses near and far
Had mustered at the swimming pool at dawn.
For the Splashettes love hard swimming where the pale blue waters lie,
And the Splashers snuff the battle with delight.
Results were as follows:
30 metres final
1st: Lyn Mouse Faulks
2nd: Doug Zorba Smith
3rd: All broke
50 metres final
1st: Doug Zorba Smith
2nd: Liam Lean Lamb Chop Fletcher
3rd: Heath Drovers Pup Smith
Brace Relay
1st: Penny Bomber Hoy and Nigel Swivelneck Tyack (.28 out)
2nd: Reece NT Tyack and Liam Lean Lamb Chop Fletcher (1.16 out)
3rd: Doug Zorba Smith and Victoria Nemo Cleaver (2.15 out)
100 metres final
1st: Vicki Chicken Queen Cluderay (1.32)
2nd: Reece NT Tyack (2.13)
3rd: Penny Bomber Hoy (2.75)
It was great to see Barry Drovers Dog Smith back in the water after a long winter lay-off and to see Doug Zorba Smith finding form to feature on the podium in three out of the four events.
Ngaire Better Red than Dead Red Hot Chilli Pepper Booth and Roz Frogman Miller were in fine form and consistently broke their nominated times.
Greg Sneakin Deacon once again led the charge in the 30 metre Final, powering past Victoria Nemo Cleaver and dragging the likes of Nigel Swivelneck Tyack and Penny Bomber Hoy with him, resulting in broken times for them all.
Our newest member Reece N.T. Tyack has improved dramatically since joining Splashers 3 weeks ago, despite being half drowned and drinking two thirds of the pool water from Penny Bomber Hoy’s tidal wave in her enthusiasm to snare a chicken.
Get well wishes are extended to our favourite cheer girl, Bev Strang – hope to see you back at the Splashatorium next Sunday Bev.
We had 17 enthusiastic swimmers last Sunday - new members are always welcome – we meet at the pool every Sunday morning at 9am followed by the famous Splashers’ breakfast at the RSL Club.
A Note from the President: Please arrive at the pool by 8.50 to enable a prompt 9am start.
