8.56: Firefighters are bringing under control a bush fire that broke out at the Goonoo Forrest near Dubbo that has already burnt out 110 hectares.
8.52: Dubbo City Council will acknowledge the contribution of more than 300 volunteers with a Christmas celebration at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre on tonight at 6pm.

The expected attendance is consistent with last year’s Christmas event, with numbers having grown from 2013’s 315 invited volunteers across the organisation to this year’s 319.

8.01: Here's a wonderful survival story for your Tuesday morning:
7.53: Today is White Ribbon Day across the Country. Community groups around the region are doing what they can to help victims of domestic violence.
Work done by the Dubbo Emergency Accommodation Project Inc to help local residents affected by domestic violence has been recognised to coincide with White Ribbon Day today.
The organisation had helped 933 women and children in the past year, Dubbo MP Troy Grant said.
"In the last year, Dubbo Emergency Accommodation Project Inc received $323,132.31 from the NSW government to assist in the work they do," Mr Grant said.
It was part of the $7.75 million Women's Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Program which has helped more than 22,000 women and children affected by domestic violence across NSW last financial year.
The service helped domestic violence victims to get apprehended domestic violence orders by non-government organisations operating in 114 courts across NSW, including Dubbo, Nyngan, Wellington, Bourke, Brewarrina, Cobar, Narromine, Warren and Gilgandra.
Preventing domestic violence remained a focus for the government, but it was comforting to know support was available for those who had experienced it and services were available to make the court process less traumatic.
