o Congratulations to Chook Hawley who won the shootout last Saturday, commiserations to President Pete who took him down to the wire.

Saturday was the showdown day for the shoot-out qualifiers, 10 players were involved so they had a nine-hole warm-up before the elimination part of the game began.
First man out was Dave Buggy. He butchered the 10th scoring a solitary point, perhaps he had run out of gas in the warm-up where he had 25 points.
Chip-offs were needed quite often to eliminate Lewie, Peto, Andy, Warren, Dave Bartley and Jeff Leek.
George Holmes, a six marker, dipped out on the 17th leaving President Pete and Chook Hawley to battle it out on the 18th.
The result was a tie, two points each so they went into a chip-off which Chook won.
Congratulations to all the players as they put up with a shocking day heat-wise, also to Warren Murray who organised and sponsored the event.
Shoot-out winner Chook, runner-up Pete, nine holes winner Dave Buggy, nearest the pins, Pete, Lewie and George.
The official results for round one in the twilight saw ‘Team Elite’ the week’s best with a massive 51 points, they just pipped ‘Murphy’s Mongrels’ who rattled up a half century.
A highlight of week two saw Uncle Pat play the perfect shot on the 14th, his first at ‘Royal Nyngan’ since he started golf way back in 1958. Pat’s team ‘The Bogan Bunkers’ were overjoyed with his four-pointer, but could only scrounge a two-pointer to go with his score.
Very good scores in Sunday’s ambrose with a couple of in-form golfers leading the way. Rex Vane and Adam Lee returned to the clubhouse with 29.37 nett just a fraction ahead of Kent Johnston and Tex Tomek with 29.75 nett, Codge McCarthy and Boots next best with 30.5 nett. Pin winners were Boots and Damian Lewis.
Two in a row for Helen Rose after she posted 19 points in the ladies mid-week comp for a two-point buffer over Rhonda Holmes, the pin winner was Rosie.
Badge draw next Thursday is worth $300. The jackpot for the eight-foot putt is close to $800, one chance only and the putt wont get any closer.
