Not quite the half century in round three of twilight golf. A jet-propelled start by the ‘Aussie Hotel’ saw them with 19 points after just three holes.
A huge score seemed likely which didn’t eventuate, 49 was their tally.
‘Bogan Bunkers’ had 14 points for their first three holes and made up the leeway to also finish with 49 points and win on a count back, two chip-ins by Margaret Rose made all the difference.
Alex Toole, baby bump and all gets better each game and is the ‘Aussies’ secret weapon.
Player of the round was David Rose with four under par for the nine holes, can anyone beat that?
A field of 32 players for the Sunday ambrose, a count back was needed to separate Chook Hawley/Barry Howell and David Rose/Stuart Rufus both on 30.25 nett.
The lucky last hole was the decider which Chook and Barry birdied compared to David and Stuart’s par. Just missing out was Ozzie Smith and Don Lister with 30.87 nett.
Pin winners were Tex and Mick Beetson. Barry hates ambrose games, dislikes nine-hole events and resents getting up early on Sunday, how Chook convinced him to play is a mystery to all.
In a storm-interrupted Saturday afternoon Don Walsh coped with the elements pretty well to finish the day with 38 points.
Runner-up was John Wynne with 36 points, his better back nine cut Barry out of the prize money. Pin winners were Dave Buggy and Jeff Leek.
A strong performance by the ladies in their mid-week game. Dolly Ryan with 21 points and Marilyn Walsh with 20 points were too good for the rest of the field. Lucky draw winner was Helen Rose.
Don’t forget the kids Christmas party, 5pm on Sunday December 21.
Saturday 18-holes and Sunday nine-holes continue over summer plus your chance to pick up some Christmas spending money on Thursday night with the badge draw at $500 and the elusive putt worth $1000 or more.
