The second round of the Club Championships will be held on Sunday March 8, third round on Sunday March 15, fourth and final round on Sunday March 29 followed by presentation luncheon and entertainment. Our Number 1 broadcaster, Max, jumped the gun last week with the date of the presentation party. Sadly, we mainly drank lemon squash last Sunday, not King Browns and 50 frothy schooners as Max suggested !

It was great to see a new Splasher join us recently, namely Elaine “Eee” McLaughlin.

A bit of controversy on the blocks last Sunday morning. Garry Bakers Delight Knight proceeding with his new job as starter, was stopped in his tracks by seasoned starter Nigel Swivelneck Tyack who queried Garry’s starting procedure. Gary was backed up by fellow Splashers and Swivelneck was sent back to the gallows.

This week, we introduce a new feature namely - “Dicks Predictions”.

On Sunday, Dick predicted that the Brace Relay competitors would need to swim .20 of a second or less to their nominated time to be in the hunt for a much coveted trophy.  Dick was right as the winners on Sunday, Our Mate Col and Rollin Ron, were .06 outside their time.

Anyone interested in swimming on Wednesday night should see entertainment director Barry Drovers Dog Smith for after-swim festivities (which is becoming very popular). 

Doug Smith, Dick Whiteford and Barry Smith travel to Albury to represent the Nyngan Splashers for the AIF Swimming Championships on March 21-22.
