No 5 Pennants were played at Nyngan on Tuesday and Thursday. Nyngan defeated Trangie on Tuesday and achieved another win on Thursday by defeating Tottenham. Nyngan will travel to Railway on Tuesday and then Trangie on Thursday.
One of the first rounds of the Fours Championship was played on Friday where Kevin and Andrew Reynolds, Darrell Anderson and Mick McGlynn defeated Todd Rope, Ron Smith, Michael Beetson and Tom O’Neill.
District bowls results held over the weekend at Tottenham. In the over sixties Tom Howard and Tom O’Neill defeated Phil Gibson and Kevin Reynolds. In the President’s reserve pairs the winners were Luke Coffee and Alan Carter (Trangie) defeating Steven Read and Rodney Ryan.
Twilight Wednesday 18th Tom Howard, Bill Barrow and Alison Hampstead defeated Darrell Anderson, Betty Carney and Patrick Hogan. Petar McKechnie. Kevin and Jane Miles defeated Lyn Hawley, Teressa Rose and Deanna Stephens. Tonight Wednesday March 4 will be the final between Tom Howard’s team and Petar McKechnie’s team.
Golden Oldies: Winners Brian Quinton and Ron Smith.
Friday night: Winners Warren Murray and Macarla Parry.
Sunday morning: Winners Ron Sullivan and Colin Williamson.
The badge draw is for $800 tonight Wednesday March 4 also on Sunday March 8 between 2pm and 3pm. Robb’s Butchery second chance draw for $100 was won by Kerry Power. Congratulations Kerry and happy birthday for Saturday. Robb’s Butchery meat draws are on Wednesday nights.
Men take note there are sheets on the board for nominations for major championship games so get your names in so as not to miss out on any events.
Ladies dates are on the board for the start of championship singles. All other games may be played at any time if both teams agree.
Sunday IGA vouchers at about 1pm.
The bowling club is running a raffle for a pool table which will be drawn Good Friday.
Tickets are $2 per ticket or three tickets for $5. No need to be at the draw to win this prize.
Events coming up:
Barefoot bowls will commence on Wednesday March 11 and will be run over five weeks. The game will be triples and play 16 ends on the night.
Teams must have at least one unregistered player. So get out there and find some new players or businesses may wish to put in teams.
There is a sheet on the board for nominations. Please check the board at the club for all rules and conditions of play. Nominations close today March 4. There are a lot of nominations down so far so do not miss out and get your names in by the above date.
Please note Friday night bowls has $100 prize money on offer. The money will be shared between first and second place providing there are 12 or more players.
Get your names down on the board by 5.30pm to play at 6pm and bring your friends for a night of bowls.
