It’s a handicappers’ dream, a blanket finish in the twilight golf.
Going into the last week ‘Bogan Bunkers’ and ‘Dunlop Devils and Divas’ are co-leaders on 23 points, ‘Aussie Hotel’ have 22 points then three teams are equal on 21 points. They are ‘Neil Earthmoving’, ‘Kevin Martin Plumbing’ and ‘Team Elite’.
There are some good match-ups this week with Bogan v The Aussie Devils and Divas v Larsens, Earthmoving v ‘Slim Dusties’ and Kevin Martin v the Elites. May the best team win.
The best team of round 16 were Murphy’s Mongrels with 43 points. They have dominated that section of the competition with six wins so far, however they are no chance of winning the competition.
David Rose was the standout player of the round, scored on every hole and finished one under for the nine holes in the dark.
Unheard of before was the Earthmovers failure to score a single point between the four of them on the 15th, they did recover and win their match. No golf on Saturday with so many away at Narromine and not too many on Sunday for the same reason. Six teams turned up and Brad McDougall and Brad Toole combined very well for an even par round and a nett 29.125 not that far behind were Codge McCarthy and John Tyson with 30.375 just a few too many 5’s on their card. Pin winners were all in the last group, President Pete and Uncle Pat.
Winner of the summer point score was Boots Holmes with 24 points, 2nd Rex Vane 22 points and 3rd Brad McDougall with 20 points.
Next Saturday is Opening Day its a three person medley ambrose. Nominations from noon for a 1pm shotgun start, sponsors of the event are Chris and Denyce from Nyngan Innovations and Tim Tulenew from PPM Global, plenty of good prizes to be won.
Sunday is Twilight closing day, teams of four with a 2.30pm hit off, same scoring format as the twilight comp, finger food after the game.
Badge draw on Thursday night is for $400 and the jackpot for the magic putt continues to grow.
