A three-hole play-off was needed to find the winner of the Mixed Foursomes championship.
Locked together with 123 gross after 27 holes were Don Lister/Nicole Chambers and Tim Tulenew/Jodi Douglas.
Don and Nicole had two shots up their sleeve with the last play-off hole (the 9th) to go.
Tim and Jodi picked up one shot which was not enough to save the game.
Looking back the winners had a six-stroke lead after nine holes which was whittled back to two strokes after 18 holes then all squared up after 27 holes.
For the runners-up they had a disastrous start with a double triple and quadruple bogey in their first five holes - they did well to finish level with the winners.
Congratulations to Don and his first win in that event and Nicole her second, she won way back in ’96 with Paul Martin.
Handicap winners were Tex Tomek and Melanie Murray with 95.5 nett about a seven stroke victory over Don and Nicole 102.75 nett.
At one stage Tex and Mel were a chance of winning the main event, a couple of doubles early in their last nine stopped their gallop. Ron Monaghan and Rhonda Holmes had 104.75 nett and earned themselves a pill each.
Pin winners were Nicole, Tex, Tim and Robyn Harris.
The day was sponsored by Sharlotte from The Bogan Lolly Shop who, by the way, is opening the restaurant at the Golfie very shortly, thank you Sharlotte and everyone who toiled around the 27 holes and congratulations to all the successful players.
Saturday’s four ball was a low-scoring affair on a heavy track, normally 40 points would not get a look in however it was good enough on Saturday and Boots Holmes and Jeff Leek were not embarrassed to take the cash.
Runners-up were Don Lister and Tex with 38 points. Pins went to Tex and Pat.
The ladies had a visitor for their Wednesday game, 35 points was the winners score the name eludes me was it Tess or Toni? Nicole came second with 30 points and Rhonda Holmes took the lucky draw.
Badge draw is for $1400 on Thursday night. Helen Rose went close with the putt for over $1000, another chance for the cash this Thursday.
Golf for Saturday is a stableford and Sunday is a 2-person ambrose medley select also the Narromine Open and the Keno play-off in Tottenham.
