With that in mind, New Zealand man Jordan Watson has posted an instructive YouTube video titled How to Hold a Baby.
The funny clip features a total of 17 ways to hold a baby. Jordan shares his clever names for each position, ranging from the Standard Shoulder Hold to the Dance Partner and the Show Off to Other Dads Superman Hold.
The clip was been viewed more then 740,000 times since it was uploaded to YouTube last week, so you can expect to see dads everywhere whipping out Jordan's array of baby-holding positions.
The baby used to demonstrate Jordan's moves is very content during the video and seems to enjoy the positions - particularly the Show Off To Other Kids Fish Hold.
"And that's how to hold your baby," Jordan says after finishing the demonstration, before assuring viewers no babies were harmed in the making of the video.
