Nyngan Tigers put an end to Dubbo Macquarie’s finals chances after defeating them 22-10 at Larkin Oval on Sunday.

Nyngan kept their hopes alive in determined fashion.
The reserves kicked off facing a strong Macquarie looking to continue their recent good performances.
Nyngan were off to the best start possible scoring after the first 10 minutes after some good lead-up work by Nathan Matheson.
Macquarie would fight back to score two tries before half-time both on the back of mistakes from Nyngan.
Macquarie scored shortly after half-time to lead 14-6 again through a mistake by Nyngan. To Nyngan’s great credit they kept working hard and wrestled the game back through controlled play and had cut Macquarie’s lead to 14-10 mid-way through the second half.
The bounce of the ball did not favour Nyngan and Macquarie scored two tries to take the lead 22-10.
Nyngan rallied again led by Justin Cox scoring again to cut Macquarie’s lead to 22-16. Nyngan pressured the Macquarie try line but failed at the last pass several times.
Late in the game Macquarie secured their win with a field goal running out victors 23-16.
Nyngan were best served by Derek Knight, Josh Bourke and Brad Toole.
Under 18’s were defeated by Macquarie 16-6 and Nyngan first grade had a good win over Macquarie beating them 22-10.
