Boarding at MacKillop College provides a unique experience of residential community living 10 kilometres from MacKillop College at St Joseph’s Boarding House, located in the picturesque village of Perthville.
The boarding experience offers a Catholic education in a Josephite tradition meeting the individual needs of modern young women.
Personal growth and friendships are developed through the building of relationships based on respect and dignity in a family-orientated environment.
Students are encouraged to be independent, self-confident and to achieve their personal best in all aspects of life.
MacKillop has a proud academic tradition. Our students have achieved excellent results in the Higher School Certificate and in a wide range of external examinations and competitions. A large proportion of the graduating class consistently receive university entrance offers while many students are the recipients of scholarships at tertiary level.
In 2014 with a cohort of 89 HSC students, the girls were awarded 40 Band 6 and 198 Band 5 results.
Our dux from 2014 was a farm girl from near Coonamble, Isabella Barrett, who was a boarder and achieved an ATAR of 99.2.
She believes being a boarder at MacKillop really helped her keep a routine and with study supervisors to help she could not have wanted more from an education.
Life at MacKillop is enriched with a diverse range of co-curricular activities to develop each girl’s interests.
A strong commitment to social justice is promoted to encourage students to explore the horizons beyond their school experience.
Opportunities are also available to extend students’ educational experiences through overseas travel to our sister schools in Japan and France, the modern history tour to Europe and the French tour to New Caledonia.
As places become limited toward the end of each school year it is important to enrol now for 2016.
