The last reminder that on September 2 the library is planning to host a solo play called Gloria’s Handbag.
Directed by Sue Rider and starring Helen Moulder. This production is a modern magical mystery with music from the Magic Flute.
The idea of the play came from our awareness of the increasing accumulation of “stuff” in our consumer society and the far-reaching challenges this presents for society as a whole as well as for individuals.
How much stuff do we need? How far is our identity bound up with objects and the memories they evoke? How important is the notion of heritage and handing on from one generation to the next?
How might these notions change in the future and what might happen to language, books, education?
The play will cost $10 per person and will be a morning session at 10.30am (one hour and 20 minutes duration) to be held at the Mary MacKillop Hall at St Joseph’s Catholic School.
If you are interested in seeing this play I need you to let me know by Thursday August 27 to book your seat at the library .
Ph: 6835 9080 or call in and see us as I will need to know numbers to make sure costs are covered.
If there is not enough interest I will have to cancel the show. This would be a great pity as the play will be very entertaining.
It is not very often that we have the chance to have a play come to Nyngan.
The Book Link Reading Programme finished on Friday August 7. Children are required to return their reading log books by Thursday August 27.
This is the last opportunity to be eligible for a book prize.
The presentation party will be held on Wednesday September 9 commencing at 3.30pm.
Due to other library commitments the next and last Story Time for term three will be held on Wednesday, September 16 commencing at 10.30am.
