SENIORS
On a beautiful Saturday morning the Seniors travelled to Gilgandra for the last gala day of the season.
Whilst it has been an extremely enjoyable season the results have not always been favourable.
This all changed for the better on Saturday. All of the hard work the team has been putting in over the last few months clicked in the first three games with Nyngan coming away with three draws against the more fancied opposition.
Reuben was sensational, scoring three goals for the day. Shianne scored the goal of the season with a sweet strike from just inside the opposition half which never looked like missing as it sailed in just under the crossbar.
Shianne, Ellita and Kailee also combined perfectly to hassle Tottenham’s best and stop him getting the ball or stopping him from cleanly disposing of it if he did get it - pretty to watch.
Bailey was his usual brilliant self - he is now regularly one of our strongest players and has improved remarkably during the season. Player of the week Tsitsi had her best games of the season and was into everything.
Max is finding his feet again after his time off through injury and did not let us down.
Thanks to Reuben for assisting with the refereeing for the day.
Well done team and keep up the good work for the last two games of 2015.
OPENS
The Opens played eight-a-side soccer on the large mids field.
This suited Nyngan as we had a few missing for a variety of reasons.
It was great to see Keegan back in action for the Nyngan Strikers and he played well in each game.
Stuart was brilliant, setting up some great opportunities for the other forwards as well as searing the ball into the net himself.
Richard was his usual bustling self and finished a beautiful Stuart cross with a much-needed goal.
Tom is now finding a niche as goalkeeper and does a great job, throwing his body around selflessly saving the opponents from scoring.
Kaleb is growing in stature and confidence, taking on larger opponents and coming away with the ball more often than not.
Jed is a solid performer and does not let us down whenever the ball is near. Jordan had a great day, defending well and running with the ball with ease.
Peter played to his normal high standard and demonstrated what a valued player he is - fast and committed with a great deal of skill.
Well done team and keep up the great work.
