Golf for the week was limited to Saturday’s Par Event. Just the seven starters and the majority finished with positive figures. Plus three was the winning score by Pat Walsh, he should have had better, plenty of plus holes but way too many washouts.
The 17th in particular with his tee shot normally well wide over near the 10th green makes it hard to get a par.
Runner-up with +2 was Dave Buggy. He too came unstuck on the 17th taking five for a washout, one of the rare bad holes on his very steady round.
Three players tied on +1. They were John Wynne, Tex Tomek and Barry Howell. Both pins went to John.
Last week’s tearaway winner Mr Leek finished stone motherless last.
The ladies had a lay day on Wednesday and Murphy’s Home Hardware Day had to be postponed due to the wet weather.
Next weekend there is a 4BBB Stableford.
Sunday is the Foursomes Championship.
The men are playing 36 holes with a 10am start, the ladies play 27 holes with a start around 10.30am.
Badge draw is for $800, the jackpot putt has been won with Uncle Pat getting the ball in the hole down the suckle side, a late curve left did the trick and the dough was his.
