Congratulations to the Nyngan Tigers 11 years Blue teams on winning last Saturday. They defeated St Sizzlers 25-11. It was a great game with the girls all demonstrating their teamwork skills.
As always the girls were keen and enthusiastic and played in whatever position coach Chantelle thought was suitable. The girls have displayed each week their determination to improve their skills and this week was no different.
First quarter saw some great defence teamwork from Anastasia Walsh as goal defence and Katelyn Coyle as goal keeper. This was complemented by Serenity Sheather’s endless energy as centre. Second quarter saw Jaynie Boland move in to goal defence and continue to keep the other team on their toes with her excellent defending.
This quarter also saw Eliza Finlay and Chanel Knight continue to shoot some amazing goals despite the wind being against them.
The opposition was run off their feet in the third quarter with Abbie Smith as centre and Brooke Bunting and Shelly Lane complementing the attacking and defending on the wings.
The final quarter saw Holly Vernon continue to dazzle us with some lovely goals.
The girls are currently third on the ladder having played 12 games ( winning eight, losing three and drawing one).
This Saturday, August 29 is their last game before semi-finals begin the next week. The girls are up against St Meerkats. Previously in round nine the girls won against them 28-20 however, when they met in round four they lost to them. It is sure to be a very exciting game and many thanks to the parents and extended family members who travel and watch each week. You are very supportive and encouraging. I would also like to mention all the other Nyngan Tigers fans who stay around to watch and cheer the girls on each Saturday. Congratulations should also be extended to all the Nyngan Tigers players and supporters. Every Saturday we wear our uniforms and jumpers around Dubbo with pride and display excellent sportsmanship. We are very fortunate to be part of such a wonderful association that nurtures both our daughters’ skills in netball and their growth as young ladies.
