The depth of talent in the Nyngan netball ranks came to the fore at the annual Ridley Trudgett Shield competition at Warren last week, where Nyngan sides had a clean sweep of the trophies.
The Ridley Trudgett Shield is a primary school netball round robin competition with sides from Catholic and public schools from Coonamble, Cobar, Warren, Nyngan, Trangie, and Narromine.
This year Nyngan Public School won the senior year 5/6 division, and St Joseph’s won the junior year 3/4 division. Both teams played against strong teams from Coonamble to win.
Many of the girls from both sides also play for the Nyngan Tigers in Dubbo on Saturday and are doing well in that competition as well.
The Nyngan Tigers under 10’s remain undefeated, and the under 11 and under 12 sides are at the top of their ladders.
