At its August meeting council decided to go ahead with this location on the western side of the town.
The location was proposed by the Manager of Development and Environmental Services, Tim Riley in his report.
Mr Riley said there had been some concerns over the location of the structure.
“Concern has previously been raised by councillors in respect to the Big Bogan being located in Teamsters Rest particularly due to its proximity to the future medical centre and the waste drop-off point for caravans also found within this location,” Mr Riley reported.

Council staff and councillors inspected the site in June of this year. Mr Riley reported the orientation of the structure could help most problems.
“The orientation of the Big Bogan structure is of particular importance due to the increased size of the structure and its proximity to the future medical centre. It is recommended the structure orientate in a west-south-west direction,” he reported.
Mr Riley reasoned there was sufficient area provided in front of the Big Bogan for photographs and the medical centre and its carpark should not form part of the backdrop.
In conjunction with the Big Bogan construction, council is also establishing new tables and seating for Teamsters Rest and Flood Memorial Car Park.
The Big Bogan’s profits have already reached the business district as Nyngan Innovations, Giles Engineering and St Mark’s Anglican Church have requested to promote or produce merchandise relating to the already famous structure.
Cr Glen Neil proposed and Cr Jodi Douglas seconded that businesses or individuals who wish to produce or promote merchandise in relation to the Big Bogan must express interest to council.
