The much-anticipated 2015/2016 Nyngan District Cricket Association season starts in earnest this Saturday at Frank Smith Oval, offering what looks to be a salivating season for both players and punters alike.
Much has been said about off-season transfers and all teams boast a roster of new and seasoned players.
No side has had more of a facelift than Dalkeith, which will be looking to star recruit Cameron Bourke with both bat and ball this weekend. Dalkeith takes on last season’s victors the Aussie Bulls at Number 2 Oval.
The Bulls will be wary of a rejuvenated Dalkeith and will not take last year’s wooden spooners lightly.
At Number 3 the old hands of RSL tempt fate against a Colts side which is always there or thereabouts come final’s time.
RSL will again field a side brimming with both experience and youthful vigour and will hope to one-up last season’s grand final loss.
Colts’ skipper Jackson Williams-Hedges will look to the likes of Toole, Smith and returnee ‘Rigsy’ to combat the wily RSL side in a match shaping up to be a cracker.
Games start at 1pm. Bring sunscreen, hats and eskies and support some local sport.
