The Manly Sea Eagles headed west this week to meet Nyngan’s junior rugby league players and spread a message of health and wellbeing.
Sea Eagle Darcy Lussick and junior Sea Eagles player Harry O’Toole visited the shire to meet the next generation of league players.
The boys were thrilled to be out west and spreading the message of healthy living.
“We don’t get to do this too often, it’s great because the kids get a bit out of it,” Lussick said.
“We’re getting the message of healthy living and well-being out there.”
The players came with NRL Country Development representative Kyle Myerers, arriving on Sunday evening.
Rugby league players and club members were given the opportunity to meet the players at the RSL Club.
The junior players ran some drills and Lussick and O’Toole answered questions and greeted club members.
The junior Tigers were shocked to hear the boys train for four or five hours at a time.
On Monday the Sea Eagles visited the public school, St Joseph’s and the high school before travelling on to the Cobar schools.
According to Lussick the Manly Sea Eagles have just finished their pre-season training and are gearing up for the first game of the season in three weeks.
Round one will see the Sea Eagles take on the Bulldogs at Brookevale Oval on Friday March 4 at 8.05pm.
