Forty players for Sunday’s ambrose, about the best this summer and photo finishes for all placings.
The winners were Brad McDougall and Nate Matheson with 30.25 net.
Pars on all holes bar one and that was the tricky 12th where they had to settle for a bogey four.
Both are big hitters and don’t hold back on any shot, Brad normally plays in bare feet.
With a few snakes around he had to put boots on this time.
Runners-up were Wok Herbert and Ozzie Smith with 30.75 net, chipping and putting were their strong points, a disastrous six on the 15th almost sunk them then a couple of chip-ins saved the day.
Of the four teams in a battle for third spot, Tara McDermott and Tony Lewis snuck in with 31.125 nett, a six on the 10th was the worst possible way to start.
A couple of fine shots by Andy Lane and Sam Keating won them the pin prizes.
Saturday’s stableford was won by Nate Matheson with another 46 points. Despite having his handicap lopped he obviously has a lot of natural talent and he perseveres with the game when the rough times come.
Another talented young bloke is Tim Lewis.
He finished with 38 points for second place.
Then James Stanton and Ozzie tied on 37 points.
Pin winners were Barry Howell, Tim and Tony Lewis.
The mid-week competitions have been a two-act affair with Nicole Chambers defeating Tex and being the pin winner.
The following week, the positions were reversed.
A massive 51 points by Plumbers Cracks in round 11 of twiglight was easily the week’s best.
The leader board has Aussie Hotel and River Side Leisure Park equal on 16 points. There are four teams right on their hammer with 14 points.
Badge draw this week is for $500 and the jackpot putt which Barry Howell missed is a tick over $1300. Subs for 2016 are due at this time of the year.
