They got off to a shaky start in both the AM and PM rounds takingh a six on the not-so-difficult first.
Things improved after that and they finished with a 77 gross.
A handy three-shot lead over Deb and Greg Matheson along with Robyn Harris and Mark Keighran and our Yamba visitors Lee and John Daly.
A string of fives by Robyn and Keiro, a horror hole on the third by Greg and Deb with a seven and similar scores by the Daly' over the first few holes in the afternoon, gave Nicole and Tex plenty of space to cruise home and finish with a tally of 117 for the 27 holes.
Runners-up were Deb and Greg with 122.
Handicap winners after that brilliant beginnning were Robyn and Keiro with 99nett.
Runners-up were the strong finishers Melanie and Warren Murray with 104.5 nett.
Pin winners were Deb and Lee plus Keiro and Nate Matheson.
Congratulations to all the various winners, particularly Nicole and Tex, their maiden win as a team.
Saturday's four ball was a good contest between Barry Howell and Pat Walsh with 46 points and Tristan Dal Forno and John Daly with 44 points. Thanks to a chip in on the 14th, Barry and Pat were one ahead teeing off the 18th. Tristan and John were hot favourites to par the last and win, however Barry had other ideas and chipped in once more for a par which broke the oppositions' hearts.
A strong finish by Chook and Murph with 24 points on the back nine gave them 41 points, pin winners were Tim Tulenew and John.
Midweek game was won by Nicole over Jodi Stewart with negative one on a countback the previous week Chris Chambers 30 points on a countback over Tex, pin winner for both weeks was Jodi.
Birthday girls on Sunday Nicole and champion golfer Mandy will only admit to being around 40.
Don Lister is on the mend after a recent op and hopes to start chasing cattle soon. Badge draw is for $1600. Rex Vane missed the putt, in excess of $2200 this week.
Golf on Saturday is an 18-hole stableford and Sunday is the KENO NSW mixed qualifying round, a 4BBB stableford.
