In a tense and exciting game, the Bulls came home with the goods defeating Coonamble 24 points to 12.

Jimmy Elias got over the try line in the first half, giving the Bulls some points on the board, but unfortunately Matt Sheather was unable to convert, the Rams were leading when the boys stopped for half time, with two tries and a conversion on the board. 

In a welcome start to the second half Dom Kennedy and Craig Ticehurst got over the try line, giving the Bulls some extra momentum.

Sheather, who wasn’t having much luck with his kicking, coverted Ticehurst’s try making the score 17 to 12.

The crowd were going wild at the side line, hoping the Bulls would hold on to their lead over the formidable team.

When Ryan Sambath got the ball and started running towards the try line it didn’t seem like there would be much stopping it. 

The prop dove over the try line taking three Coonamble players with him. After Sheather converted the try, the Bulls were comfortably 24 to 12 for the remaining 10 minutes of play. 

But the Bulls weren’t going to relax turning on the defence to stop the Rams going anywhere near their try line. 

The whistle finally blew when the Rams were dangerously close to scoring, and there were jumps for joy on the field and in the crowd. 

Three points were awarded to breakaway Jack Kennedy, two points were shared between full back Declan Hoare and second rower Tom Cleaver and prop Gus Currans was awarded one point. 

The teams drew in second grade, 26 all.

In a high scoring game of four tries and three conversions a piece, the crowd was as equally excited as the first grade game.

Jackson Hedges (2), Toby Miles and Cameron Bourke all scored tries, with Toby Miles converting all but Hedges’ second try. 

There was a huge crowd at Larkin Oval as the club celebrated Ladies Day and Sponsors’ Day.

The ladies were treated to champagne, cheese and sandwiches in the sun in front of the entertaining game of football. In a tough selection, the girls chose Angus Currans as their “Chick’s Pick” of the players. 

The sponsor’s were acknowledged with all their hard work as well. Inland Petroleum, Mullengudgery Merino Stud, Nyngan Toyota, The Hermidale Hotel, Wright Way Building, Team Player Apparel, Fly Orana, Grain Flow, The Aussie Hotel, Western Rivers Vets, Cobar Cranes, Aeris Resources, Pybar, Elders, Ag n Vet, Landmark and Aglink are the Bogan Bulls sponsors this year.

The Bulls will travel west to take on Brewarrina next weekend. The following weekend Nyngan will play the Camels in Cobar on Friday August 5 under lights.
