Council would therefore like to advise residents that the new date from which the upgraded Nyngan Waste Management and Resource Recovery Facility is expected to be open is November 3, 2016.
This means that the implementation of the waste voucher system will also be delayed until November.
The voucher system involves Council issuing 12 waste vouchers to ratepayers currently being levied the waste depot access charge on their rate notice.
The intention was to have the Nyngan Waste Management and Resource Recovery Facility upgraded to accept such vouchers at the gate with a new recyclable drop off area from August 4, 2016.
Council released a fact sheet in May outlining the changes to the waste management facility. Waste which is separated and placed in the correct locations will be free of charge. For mixed waste, there will be 12 vouchers per year to rate payers who pay the waste management levy entitling these properties to access the facility with general waste.
The roll out of waste vouchers to those relevant ratepayers will commence from October 2016 and further information will be made available at this time.
Council would also like to alert the community that onsite works are ongoing and we would appreciate co-operation from the community with correct onsite waste disposal. Should you have any questions, please contact Council on 6835 9000.
