The Tigers held a 12 to six advantage at the break with Forbes crossing over with 17 minutes left on the clock to lock up the scores at 12-all and set up the stage for a nail-biting finish.
With nine minutes remaining DJ Kennedy cross over out wide, to put us in front by four with time running out.
Our boys made the uncharacteristic mistake in the set from the kick off to allow the Magpie possession to cross over out wide and level the scores at 16-all with three minutes remaining.
A towering restart from Boo Howard proved to be too hard to handle for the Magpies and from the scrum the boys were able to set up for a field goal which DJ made no mistake with slotting it with ease to see our boys come away with a mighty one point victory.
To a man the Tigers stoop up, our defence was as good as they have produced.
Ray Simmons, Tom Waterhouse, Jak Jeffery, Tom Harris and Nik Andrews worked their backsides off in defence and well and truly contained the talented and bigger Forbes pack.
Captain Clayton Couley lead from the front, he is a natural leader this kid, his workload was phenomenal, and the rest of the boys followed.
Big front rower Jake McClellan left hi mark on the Forbes boys, his bruising defence left them sick and sorry.
In the backs Owen Kennedy was powerful, he took some containing and he's block bursting surges on the edge.
Tyler Marret also did some good things.
Fullback Boo Howard in his first game back after a seven week spell due to a broken collar bone was outstanding.
He brought energy to the team, and his aggression in defence was a big factor in us getting on top.
Great effort from all the boys but remember the jobs not finished.
