The lucky winner, who wishes to remain anonymous spoke to Tatts Lotto this morning. Here is what she said.
-------
Bogan Shire woman woke up on Friday morning $10 million richer after buying the division one winning Powerball ticket.
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, told Tatts Lotto she’s had a very restless and exciting night.
“This doesn’t happen to me,” she said.
“I watched the draw last night and then sat down to check my ticket and I thought to myself no this can’t be, I’ve got this number, this number and this one too.
“It feel so surreal. I stayed up last night thinking I might get a phone call.
“I woke up early this morning and I’ve been waiting for you to call and tell me this is real,” she told Tatts Lotto.
The ecstatic winner said although her family has always made do her whole world has changed now.
“I’m going to sit down and start planning. First up is getting rid of the bills, then the house needs some attention and I want to share with my family,” she said.
The woman played a PowerHit entry and won an additional $261,754.45 bringing her prize to $10,261,754.45.
The winning numbers were 12, 39, 22, 32, 25 and 24, the winning Powerball number was 11.
Newsagent Graham Jackson was delighted the ticket was bought in his Pangee Street shop last week.
He said he never dreamed the winning ticket would have been bought in Nyngan.
His friend from Condobolin called him and told him to check his terminal, as the winning ticket had be bought locally.
“We’ve never had a first division winner before. The odds are high,” he smiled.
Mr Jackson said the Newsagency has a winning year all round.
“We had a winning move nine months ago, the new premises is a winner, now we have a winning ticket, there’s plenty more to come,” he said.
“It’s brilliant.”
Although the ticket is registered, all Mr Jackson knows is that the person is from the Bogan Shire, they are a female.
“That’s one of the great things about being registered, it’s completely anonymous,” he said.
“It’s great for small town newsagency. I’m glad the person is a local, it’ll benefit the whole community.
“Congratulations to the winner,” he said.
