The Bogan Shire End of Term Report 2012-2016 is available to the public on the Bogan Shire Council website www.bogan.nsw.gov.au and in hard copy at the Bogan Shire Library and council administration.
Significant developments over the past term include the $1.7million Bogan Shire Early Learning Centre which is licensed for 43 children aged 0-5 a day, and which employs 20 staff.
Council is also building a multi-million dollar medical centre in Nyngan which will house two doctors, both of whom will have visiting rights to the hospital, as well as provide rooms for allied health services.
Work has commenced on a $10 million, 700Ml storage at Nyngan and for the Albert Priest Channel to be capped to sure up water security for the region.
An area of focus has also been the parks and gardens throughout the Shire. There is new playground equipment and shade at Girilambone and Nyngan, a $60,000 Liberty Swing for wheelchair users installed at O’Reilly Park, a river pontoon and footpath at Rotary Park and Heritage Park on Nymagee Street now includes a war memorial including a Lone Pine planted to recognise the Centenary of Anzac, and will also have a specific Indigenous site. The Nyngan Swimming Pool was upgraded with filtration plant, clubhouse and shade sails.
As part of a main street beautification scheme in Nyngan, nose-to-kerb parking was introduced and street garden beds were constructed.
The Bogan Shire received nation-wide publicity in 2015 when the Big Bogan structure was unveiled.
