At a ceremony attended by the Councillors, community representatives, and Ally’s St Joseph’s kindergarten classmates, she was presented with a special key to the swing and allowed to have first go.
Her parents Karina Dunn and Brett Robb were on hand to give it a push, and Ally was clearly delighted. The Liberty Swing was installed at O’Reilly Park with funding from Western District Supported Employment, Bogan Shire Council, Nyngan Show Society, Bogan Community and Tourism Group, Care West Ability Links, Nyngan Garden Club and Nyngan Rotary Club.
Ally first tried a Liberty Swing two years ago when on holidays at Mollymook and enjoyed it so much Karina wrote to the Bogan Shire Council and suggested one be installed at Nyngan.
“To be honest I haven’t taken Ally to the park a lot because there wasn’t anything here for her, but now we have a very good reason to come,” Ms Dunn said.
