2. I have lived in the Bogan Shire Council for 33 years
3. I have decided to run for Council as I have an interest in doing something positive for the town you live in. Hopefully with positive input you can get positive output and the community we all live in will benefit.
4. Have you run before? No I have never run before.
5. What platform will you be running on? I do not have a specific platform that I am running on.
6. Is there a specific cause or reason you have nominated for council? I am running to make a positive and informed contribution to Council through passing on many years of business experience.
7. What would you like to achieve while you're on council? To promote Nyngan as the great town that it is through promotion of tourism in the town and surrounding areas and to provide more facilities.
8. What are your views on the Big Bogan? I like the Big Bogan, I think it is a great opportunity to have tourists stop and spend some money in the town instead of just passing through.
9. Are you concerned about the rate of businesses leaving town or the empty shops down the main street? What do you think can be done about it? It is always a concern when businesses leave town or close. We need to support local businesses and therefore support the community through employment.
10. In your opinion what does the Shire need? To work with new and existing businesses and promote shopping local where possible. The Bogan Shire also needs to improve sporting facilities to act as a draw card to get major events here.
11. What are your thoughts on CSG exploration and/or mining in the Shire? Including the rare mineral scandium mine? Any business employing people in the local area and spending money through other local businesses is a great opportunity for the Bogan Shire but we need to take into consideration any detrimental effects on farm land and the environment.
12. What are views on young people leaving the shire for further education or work and not returning? Is this concerning? We need to support our local youth through employment opportunities which again comes back to support of local businesses.
14. What are views on crime in the Shire? Crime in the Bogan Shire needs to be addressed especially rural crime. This can be done through the police and the community being more aware and vigilant. We all need to work together on this issue.
15. Why should Bogan Shire people vote for you? I think I would be a good councillor for the Bogan Shire, I am approachable and a good listener. I will always try and do my best and the best for the Bogan Shire.
16. Feel free to add anything you think I may have missed. I have nothing more to add at this point.
