The mighty Nyngan Tigers Under 11 team narrowly missed out on their second consecutive Dubbo Netball grand final losing 32-30 to their archrivals the Fantastic Tiddas.
The Under 11’s was the only Nyngan netball side to make the grand final.
The girls struggled with grand final nerves in the first quarter and had to claw their way back, but they were always in contention.
At the end of the third quarter the scores were even and the final minutes were a nail biter for those on the sidelines.
All the girls played at their best.
Ella Rose and Amy Motley were on point with their goals; Molly Smith was outstanding in centre; the new players – Sophie Yabsley and Whitney Pack didn’t stop running in the wing positions.

Amber Dutton and Libby Weston were all over the court when they needed to be; and Lucy McLaughlin, Billi Smith and Prue Donnelly never gave up in defence.
The team was supported by a great roll up on the sidelines. Thankyou to all those people who made the effort to be in Dubbo to support them.
Thankyou also to their dedicated coach, Teressa Rose and manager, Veneta Dutton.
And to Lisa Pack who bravely wore the Nyngan Tigers suit as team mascot.
The team had their presentation the following day.
Ella Rose was voted best and fairest; Molly Smith was the best player and Amy Motley won a coaches award for her enthusiasm and skills.
It’s been a difficult season for all netballers with many games washed out due to the ongoing wet weather.
The Dubbo Netball Association are offering clinics for six to 15 year-olds over the September holidays. Check out their facebook page for more information.
A big congratulations to the Mighty Tigers under 11s netball team from Dawn and Grace at the Nyngan Observer.
